The Yacht Club L'Escala, situated at
midday of the Roses Gulf, has a privileged situation
for its geography for the practice of sailing. The thermal
winds, which domine in the area, offer the perfect conditions,
with winds from force 1 to 5 in the Beaufort Scale and
plane sea. Tramuntana, the wind from the north, is famous
in the zone for its intensity offering the possiblity
of sailing with constant winds up to force 7 with no
waves.
he experience of the Club staff in
organization of Regatas, with 4 Cathalan Sailing Weeks
celebrated, predict an efficient management of the event.
There are 6 races programmed, 4 of
them necessary for the trophy to be valid. The format
of the races is quite open, making possible different
routes depending on the weather conditions. From windward
-leeward circuit of 2.6 miles between the two buoys,
10.5 miles of route, to triangles with routes of 10.8
miles.
The race area, at less than one mile
far from the entrance of the port, with maximum depth
35 m., guarantees to make the most of the perfect conditions
of the area.
